So recently made (kegged....made it 9 months ago) my first sour. i know its recommended practice to use certain equipment for sours only after it has been used for one, but curious as to how far i need to take this logic.

Obviously i have now devoted that carboy, auto siphon, transfer tube and keg / tap to the souring cause. I use a pump to circulate hot PBW and spray it on the inside of the carboy to clean it (carboy / keg washer), is that pump now a "sour only" pump? the carboy was rinsed with high pressure cool water prior to being put on the washer.

I am just not sure how far i need to take this and curious. Would love to hear some personal experiences and advice. Thanks.

Just run boiling water through the pump for 15-20 minutes, no bugs are going to survive that.
