Anyone here use this? I've got it in a 1.5 liter starter, on a stirplate. After 24 hours, nothing.
This poured dark brown out of the smack pack, it was two months old, and it was quite warm to the touch when I took it out of the box. I'm wondering if the heat didn't zap it dead.
Is this a slow to start yeast? I'll give it a few more days in case the viability was 5% or something. This starts out as 70 billion instead of the usual 100.
Midwest doesn't insulate these against heat quite as well as NB.

Apparently it needed half a day longer to take off. It's getting foamy on the surface now... Or it picked up something from the air.
