I'm brewing a batch right now. I did it last year and the spicy of the rye complimented the pumpkin so well. I have never seen a recipe for pumpkin and rye so I am mostly posting this as a shout out for people to try.
I am using 3.3 lbs LME Rye and about 4 lbs of last years pumpkin (frozen till now) and some summer squash from this year. About .5oz of centennial hops because that is what I am currently packaging up (Mt Hood would have probably been better but the centennial was closer). Two tsp of generic pumpkin pie spice. I'm thinking about 3 gallons. As you can tell, this recipe was mostly made up on the fly.
Someone else try this because I do believe it deserves a formal recipe somewhere.
(OK... I just did a search and pumpkin rye recipes or commercial brews do exist but very few and far between)
