Looking for an addition to a pumpkin ale recipe. Love pumpkin ale, a bit spicy more pumpkin flavor.

I have the pumpkin ale kit from midwest supplies and want to doctor it up a bit for a stronger taste (based on reviews too)

Any suggestions? Looking at Libbys Pumpkin Pie filling as an addition. Thought it may be better to find out here.

Thanks

Lots of people add pumpkin pie filling in various points during the brew. I have added it to the mash, beginning and end of the boil, and in secondary.

You don't really get much pumpkin flavor from the pumpkin, though it does contribute to the body of the beer.

I have found that the careful addition of spices gets the pumpkin flavor across a little better, but it is very easy to over-spice the beer.

Here is a good thread about adding pumpkin.
