1 gallon store bought apple juice (no preservatives)
Dregs from 2 bottles of Orval.
Did not make a starter and step it up, just poured bottle dregs directly into the juice. Added yeast nutrient. Air locked.

Any ideas if this will work? I just did it tonight. Looking for a bretty/funky cider. I realize that if the dregs are viable, it may take sometime to start fermentation. If no fermentation occurs within 48 hours, I will dump in dregs from different bottle conditioned sour beers (bretted beers and or lambics) until something happens. If I achieve my desired result, I will harvest these dregs and use them as my "house" yeast slurry.

Has anyone ever done this? Any ideas as to what will happen?

Thanks!
