The directions say to move the beer from te secondary fermenter to a racking bucket before bottling, I am just curious if that is the recommended way to do so or to just bottle from the secondary

If you are batch priming, you need to rack to a bucket. I believe you can bottle from the carboy if you are using priming tabs. batch priming involves boiling 4 to 4.5 oz of sugar in 2 cups of water, and racking on the sugar solution.

If you have a bottling bucket, you put the priming sugar in to mix before bottling. The name of the game with bottling is splash as little as possible. I have bottled from a fermenter and used carbonation drops.

Okay thank you, I have just heard that some don't like it cuz it adds more oxygen into the beer and increases chances of contamination. Thanks for the advice tho!
