I've been asked to brew some beer for some parties coming up this year once again.

In years past, I would lug the keg with plus my CO2 tank.

I am thinking of grabbing a 2.5 gal keg to take to some smaller parties but I am curious as to what everyone is using as a CO2 option. I know the small keg chargers are an option, but w/o a regulator is that a good option?

Example: I hate balloons because I am always afraid one is gonna pop in front of me, so the keg charger freaks me out. :smack:

Search google for "mini co2 regulator" , they are pretty sweet. They take a 74g CO2 cartridge and are very compact.

I use a 12l keg and a small charger with a 16g CO2 cartridge. If the beer is already carbonated the 16g is enough to dispense the 12l. Taking a spare cartridge with you down to the park / beach / house party doesn't weight much anyway.
