Pin Lock Quick Disconnect Flare vs John Guest Fitting

Recently I bought some Bev Seal tubing (3/16" ID). After a lot of trouble trying to connect it to the barbed quick disconnect I decided to buy some John Guest fittings.

I did some research here at homebrewtalk and ended up buying this one:

It's the PM4508F4S part number.

Along with the JG fitting I also bought this pin lock connector (it's the German CMB one):

So, I have a pin lock connector that's supposedly 1/4" MFL and a JG adapter that's supposedly 1/4" FFL. But they don't fit! The pin lock connector flare is a bit smaller than the JG thread.

I don't know if IPW sent me the wrong JG (the NPT one maybe?) part or if this particular pin lock connector has a different flare.

Has anybody had any issues with those types of connectors?

Definitely looks like NPT to me.

That is definitely not the correct John Guest fitting that they sent you. I use the 3/8" tube to 1/4 FFL for all my QD's, and they work great (I use the 1/4" ID Bev Seal ultra).

Send the seller a message, and hopefully they will fix things up for you!

Thanks a lot guys. I'll contact IPW.

The big issue is that I live in Brazil and getting only those fittings delivered here would be kinda expensive (I bought them along with a bunch of other things). Maybe I'll use that as an excuse to buy more homebrew stuff .
