It's the overall length of the shank, from the end of the collar to the tip of the barb. I'm not certain how the barbs are on there, I think they are all welded. I've heard people cut them off with dremel tools, but I haven't tried that before.

Are you seriously going to make a big deal about this? When I posted, there was a ton of interest. You didn't even want the entire set.

I'm almost positive they are. I'm trying to find the receipts but I'm not having much luck. I might just drop the prices just to move them now that the faucets are sold.
