Pellicle?

I never seen this in my starter. It's 1056 and 3 days in. Usually the krausen has fallen and is white, not brown like this. Don't smell bad as far as I can tell. View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1471647720.048381.jpg

No problem. If you do t know what it is, then it's best to ask!

That looks like some krausen I get during fermentation - really thick and bubbly - so it was pretty obvious to me. Looks good!

Funky krausen on 1056? Not likely. Sky is not falling, but that's pretty odd looking for standard ale yeast.

Kinda what I was thinking. It is 7th gen. at least from harvested starters of 1056. I'm crashing it now, I guess I'll taste it when I decant. The weird color made me think something wild is altering it.
