Hello all,

I'm trying to convert a "regular" Red Ale I've brewed before into a Red Rye and would appreciate any thoughts. My biggest question is over ammt of rye to add. Not sure if I should do 1/2 lb. or 1 lb. Here's what I've thinking for a 5 gallon batch.

5lbs. Extra Pale Extract

2 lbs. 2-row
1/2 lb. Crystal 90L
1/2 lb. Special B
1/2 lb. Cara Munich
??? lb. Rye Malt <-------- (Not sure if 1/2 or 1 pound)

1 oz. Cascade 60 min
1 oz. Cascade 15 min
1 oz. Cascade 5 min

Thanks,
Matt

Forgot to mention I'll be using White Labs California Ale yeast.

If any one is interested, I went with the recipe as above and 3/4lb rye malt. Will update at tasting.

Matt
