So I had a an accident during bottling when I was adjusting the tap on the bottling bucket and basically a huge amount of oxygen rushed right through the beer. The whole batch was bubbling before I could fix the seal on the tap again.

The beer is a low IBU light hefeweizen. Would anyone know approximately how much time do I have before the bottled beer will start tasting oxidised?

I am planning on drinking it as soon as it carbed up in 1,5 or 2 weeks.

Would I have like a month from the oxidation event before the off flavor starts to set in?

Thanks

I oxygenated the heck out of a beer while transferring to a secondary some time ago. It's a long story.
I didn't notice any off flavor after three months. Non-beer makers and the like won't notice anything.

I doubt you'll notice any oxidation. But still I'd go ahead and drink up before it has a chance.

I seriously doubt that you will have any problems. There has been times when im transferring from primary to the bottling bucket, & i get a (what i call a burp of oxygen) in to the beer. I dont know why that happens, but the beer has always turned out fine.

im confused why you have a tap on a bottling bucket. I just hook a piece of tight fit clear tubing to the plastic spigot on the bottling bucket, a bottling wand to the other end of the tubing . everything having been star-san'd before bottling starts. where did the rush of oxygen come from??
