Ullarsskald1988
Brewing since July, 1974.
Greetings;
Brewed my first batch with Blue Ribbon Malt from Premier Malt Products that I bought at the A & P in July 1974. Used the Prohibition era recipe on the back of the label: malt syrup, white sugar and bread yeast. Using some of the herb lore I learned in Boy Scouts, used dried dandelion root for bittering because I could not find hops. My fermenter was a 5 gallon frosting bucket from Dunkin Donuts.
I looked up what hops were after seeing them mentioned on dad's favorite, PBR.
It was awful.
I've gotten better over the years, especially in making mead.
Looking forward to conversing rather than just swooping in via search engine.
Take care. - Steven
