Just trying something different while the next batch of beer brews.

Pretty much what I wanna do is make an alcoholic drink with artificial orange juice sachets.

What I though I would try is get a beer yeast (or wine?, not too sure) and a kg of dextrose, put that in the fermenter and let the yeast do its thing for a however long it takes, which should give me a 23L solution of alcohol ~4.5%. I would then add enough sachets of artificial fruit juice to sweeten to taste. I'll use sugar free artificial juice so I don't have to worry about over carbing it, then i'll bottle carb it for a few weeks at least.

Am I right in thinking this will work for what I want to achieve, or have I completely missed a fundamental step that will make this fail?

as long as there is no sorbate in it, it should be fine

Cool, what effect would the sorbate have on fermentation?

Also will I need a yeast nutrient for this process or will the yeast be happy with just dextrose?
