Hi,

I have an idea for a new recipe and was looking for feedback or advice.

7# 2-Row
2# Flaked Maize
1# CaraPils
8 oz. Honey Malt

Single Infusion mash 152* for 60 mins.

.75 oz. Cascade (7.1%AA) @ 60 mins.
.25 oz. Cascade (7.1%AA) @ 5 mins.
2 oz. Orange peel @ 10 mins.

Aerate wort and pitch starter (US-05).

Primary at 65* for 7 days.
Secondary at 65* for 7 days.
Crash cool for 5 days and bottle condition at 70* for 3 weeks. Lager for 1 week and sample.

I am thinking of cutting out the full pound of CaraPils, using half of that and 4 oz. of the honey malt. The reason I had both was this was supposed to be a blueberry cream ale, thinking the fruit was going to dry the beer out. Any feedback is definately welcomed.

I agree with the grain adjustment; 1.5lb of unfermentables would be way too much for a cream ale. I would add the orange peel at flameout so you don't boil off too many of the aromatics.
