Hello:

I was just offered a few glass carboys that have been previously used for wine. I currently have one soaking in PBW to see how clean it will get.
Does anyone see any potential harm by using these as a secondary?

Thanks!

Nice pics! Always good... :)

The glass seems to have some etching stains. Not sure if it will come out.

The only harm may be the use of a secondary, (if you are following some recipe instructions to a "T".)

No problem as long as you clean them well. I've been using 40+ year old glass carboys my grandfather brewed rose petal wine in for primary and secondary fermentation for years without any issues.
