No carb root beer

Don't know what I did wrong but my root beer is flat. I used whole grain Hogson Mill dry yeast. I let it sit at room temp for 3 1/2 days and put it in the fridge when the plastic bottle got really firm. I put more yeast in it and sat it out again. Will that help?
 
there is a soda forum under mead wine and cider. They would beable to help better.

I think 3.5 is too short a time, but I have no experience with soda OR bread yeast.
