OK, I sheepishly post here about my first homebrew. I'm glad I didn't wait too long to screw up! Anyway, I woke up in the night after brewing my first batch with the thought that I forgot to add the hops to my boil. I did the boil late on a Saturday and first thing Sunday I boiled the hops for a while, cooled them and added them to the wort (probably had not started fermenting yet). So, the rest of the process went OK I think but the first week after bottling I have good carbonation, but the flavor is very "flat" and "watery." Should I expect anything better after a couple more weeks? Or just go on to the next one and pay better attention??
Thanks!

edit: (the full answer)
You diluted your wort and probably didn't boil long enough to get bitterness extracted from the hops.
(unless "for a while" is 60 minutes)
