my kegerator build was due to not being able to find a black chest freezer..... I am on a waiting list for one at a few appliance stores.... I almost bought a new kegerator that was supposed to go down to 26 degrees and the price tag was just shy of $1100.00. Now the young lady who helped me with the order told me that it would be pushing it hard to achieve that temp. I like my beer cold. That’s why the keezer is such a great invention and some of the builds are just amazing. I came across the TRUE commercial cooler in a Craigslist search fo a black freezer and it was in Oregon so I grabbed the pooch and said we’re takin a road trip! Now the price tag of a new cooler was $1600.00. I paid $300.00 for mine and it was 3 years old. I called the manufacturer and asked questions about cooling lines in the top and he said that the top and the sides had no lines in it. Bought a new hole saw, ordered most of the equipment from AIH, the red Kegco CO2 bottle, found a polished Kegco 2 tap tower complete with taps and lines ( changed the lines ) for $60.00 on eBay and it was off to the races. New cornys, Taprite gauges , nice looking clamps , vintage looking taps (miller high life mepps #3 spinner and el grito lager ) and a tap display that has my favorite “deep troubles blonde ale“ on it Will hold 33 degrees all day long...... This will have to work till the black freezer comes in.......
