Made this with my dad. Chills 20qt of boiling water to 26 Celsius in 15 minutes.

No more ice baths!

I like the use of the vertical tube to hold the spacing of the rest.

What temp is your ground water at? During the summer mine is in the high 70s (F), so I can get down to 100 fairly quick, but past that is just a crawl. Looking forward to winter to make use of 50(F) water again.

Not sure about ground water as it was tested at my parents place on well water. I have yet to test it on my warmer city water. Will find out though.

Tomorrow will be the first day using it on Wort. Fingers crossed.

I need to make myself one of these bad boys, Is that 3/8" inlet/Outlet then 1/2" for the coil?

How was the first use, and how much did it cost to build?

Thanks!

Total cost was $40 Canadian not counting time for labour by myself and my dad. Would have been quicker but we really winged it.

The inlet and outlet are 1/2inch, the coil itself is 3/8.

Have had two uses so far and it has exceeded all expectations. Have gone from boiling to pitched yeast in 15-20 minutes. No issues whatsoever
