My braid was getting a little worn out after 4 years of use and a friend of mine found some large diameter braid at a scrap yard so we picked up a bunch of it and made a "mondo braid"....

This stuff works awesome, even in the boil pot to filter trub.

I bought a 90 elbow to connect it but found out when I got home I needed a 45 so I didn't get it hooked up to my MT yet.

I use 3/4" water heater supply braid similar to your pics, superior to the 1/2" crap IMO.

Looks sweet!

Cheers!

Set mine up tonight, thanks for the idea. I used a 4 ft 3/4 line from HD. I cut it around 40 inches. I used a 5/8s compression to 1/2 npt. I sweated a 90 to a T and added 1/2 pipe coming out of the T for a place to worm clamp the braid on. I did a water test and it drains right to the bottom of it. Has great flow. The middle of the loop started to float, so I slipped on a 45 1/2 elbow to hold it down.
