New AG Brewer

Hey guys. I'm making the switch to AG on my next brew. I've got my cooler MLT and my keggles all ready. Now I'm looking for recipe suggestions. I've thought about ordering an AG kit from an online vendor, but I thought I might post up and see if anyone has any suggestions. I'm open to most any style, what I'm looking for is something of a "more forgiving" AG recipe to get me started. I dont want to dive into something that's too complex and might turn me off from AG brewing.

Some of my first AG brews were from Northern Brewer, the Nut Brown Ale and their Cream Ale kits. Both were simple mashes, forgiving because I screwed up at some point or another, turned out delicious! I would recommend either of these kits to start out with, they're cheap too!

I found that, pale, hoppy beers like IPAs and APAs turned out best for me from the beginning.

If you like SNPA or Bells Two Hearted there are some well regarded clone recipes on here. If you'd prefer to not do a clone recipe, here are some other favorites from the recipe database:

I really like the bee cave haus pale ale. The recipe is simple, cheap, and really tastes good. I've only made it once, but will soon make it again and alter the process a tad to see how it changes the end result. Good luck! You'll really enjoy it and be surprised how its really not much harder than extract.
