I just got a 3 gallon carboy for Christmas and would like to do a small batch but not sure what to make. What I have on hand-
3 lbs of Light DME
1 can of Mr Beer Pilsner LME
1oz. Cascade
1oz Citra
US-05

I was thinking of doing a hoppy pilsner with some crystal 20 steeped in the boil but up for suggestions!
I can run to my LHBS if I need to but would like to try and use up as much of the malt extract as possible.
Thanks!

The Mr. Beer Kit should have ~1.75lb LME. If you use 3lbs DME in addition to this you're looking at a beer around 7.5% ABV. Sounds like you're approaching IPA/IIPA territory with this.

I would steep some Crystal (I would personally go for about 1/4lb 80+) to give it a little more body and split those hops up for 60/30/flameout additions. I'd probably call it a IIPA but whatever it's called it should be good!

Cheers :mug:
