Hey guys,

I found these pictures on Craigslist with the description "5 gallon beer brewing setup with a spiral glass cooling tube." I'm wondering if you guys could identify what these pieces of equipment actually are. The bucket looks strange to me, and common sense tells me there's no such thing as a glass wort chiller.

Does the bottom of the bucket rest into the base? Or is it all one piece?

Is the bottom of the bucket cone shaped?

Don't know, but if I used the glass spiral at all I would run the wort through it in an ice bath similar to the way a counterflow chiller would work. I definitely would not use it as an IC. If it broke in your wort.....

Take a look at the bucket and see if you might use it.

Price?? I would offer $5 - $10... no more,

I'm not sure, and it's a long drive to check.

As far as price goes, he's asking $25 for everything.

Not sure what it is. It could be a plastic conical fermenter sitting in a base.

Definitely could be a still.

Long drive and $25 to find out if it is a still.

Pass.
