Need help determining ss tubing size for my sgl. tier rig.

I am getting ready to build a Brutus inspired brewing stand. I want to hard plumb all the lines using ss tubing and tri clover fittings. I have the ability to tig weld all the tubing. I had originally planned on just going with 1/2" tubing throughout because I think that would give me plenty of flow. As I am looking into tri clover fittings, I have realized that 1/2" is not very common. Is 1"the standard? It seems a bit big for the flow rates that it will see. Any advice, or a link to any threads dealing with this would be greatly appreciated.

There's no need for the tubing to be 1 inch just because the tri-clover ends are. Use 1/2 inch tubing with 1 inch fittings welded on. You can buy the 1 inch caps, drill it for the O.D. of your tubing, then weld the tube to the cap.
