Hi Peeps!

We are planning to set up a Microbrewery in Cambodia and we got in touch with a local brewer. This guy use to run a brewery and now he has pretty much a whole setup for sale.

I would like you guys to tell me what you think about those gears (Cf. pictures below).

The set-up we would be interested to buy from him would be 6 x 500Lt fermentations Tanks, 1 Lauter Tun, 1 Cooler and we would get the rest elsewhere.

All those gears come from Vietnam from the Company TRUONG TIN.

But he had as well 1000 Lt tanks that we wouldn't be interested in to start.

So my main question is, what do you think about the quality of this equipment?

Do you think that would be easy to clean, renovate, rebuild and get running or?

(The pictures are from 500Lt and 1000Lt tanks as well since the point is to learn more about how careful have been the previous owner with all his gears…

Another point is all the gears are left outside which is obviously not the best.

Thank you so much to all the brewers out there for your advices!

Love and hops.

Thomas.

Ball valves and what I think is pipe threads are far from optimal when it comes to sanitation. I'd say it's far below the industry standards, but you can make it work. At least the bottom port seems to have a butterfly valve.

Is this the inside of a fermenter? It's hard for me to say how much work it would take to remove the rust. I'm sure there are people here who know more about rust removal and prevention in stainless steel.

The seam between the wall and the top doesn't scream quality workmanship, even though it looks to be above were the beer would sit. If other parts of the fermenters has seams like that it would be hard to clean.

That's just my 2 uneducated cents.
