Need a little help with a mash tun

so i have a 10 gallon cooler from lowes and i drilled a 1 inch hole in it for a valve i had long story but stupid mistake. now it won't work and i want to redo it and make real false bottom in it. any help on a fitting that would work with the one inch hole and seal. i need it to end up with 1/2 NPT. Any help please

Might have to find a 1" weld less plug to seal the hole and then drill the proper size hole for the 1/2 fitting
