I realize this may take the prize as the lamest DIY project on HBT, but I thought it was worth sharing anyways. You can easily convert a Northern Brewer box (like the ones extract kits come in) into a handy 12-pack flat by cutting the top into pieces. I knew there was a reason I was hanging on to these.

I do the same, but with printer paper boxes from work. Using some extra cardboard from other sources, you can create 24 packs. The lids of the boxes even fit back on if you're using 12oz bottles. I also like to cut a peice or cardboard the size of the bottom to soak up and spillage while bottling before it gets to the glue.

Box in the back right corner, and the bottom of the tower is one... They're super sturdy!

That is brilliant! I have several of those boxes and this gives me a use for them. Thanks...
