You can sub just about anythign for a bittering addition and youll be ok. Just try to match up the alpha acids so you end up in the same ballpark of IBUs

Use an IBU calculator to make sure that the IBU contribution is similar. There should be no issue in swapping out a bittering addition, since very little (read: none) of the flavor will end up in the beer.

No problem at all. Just make sure the IBU's match up and you are good.

I often just use what I have around for bittering.
