I have just run the mill for the first time. I set the gap to .045 which is the factory setting - i had to set the gap myself as the unit came apart during shipping.

Does this look ok?

I think it looks pretty good - at least similar to what I shoot for. I tried a tighter gap on mine and I just got flour..... and not necessarily stuck mashes, but slow mashes. I was getting 90% efficiency though....... But, I would rather have 80% efficiency, less flour and a less compact grain bed. I actually increased my gap to over .055ish - My drill is pretty high speed though and I think that makes for a greater crush.

Ultimately, it is what works the best with your system and finding that sweetspot of good efficiency and good run off.
