Quick question for anyone using a mash tun with the pop top opening on the end. I bought the 3/4" tubing and it fits almost perfectly, but there are still little droplets coming out. Would increasing the size with electrical tape or something help achieve the snugness? I built the whole tub for around $15 including the cooler, so i'm trying to keep it pretty close to that. I did BIAB for a few brews and i didn't like how all the grains weren't completely submerged.

Food grade silicon sealant. Any decent hardware store or pet store will have it.

Did you use thick wall silicone tubing? If not, try that
Thin wall will collapse.
You want tubing that is slightly larger OD than the opening.

It's pretty thick and stiff (made sure to get heaviest duty HD sold). I just need a little bit extra thickness to ensure there isn't lost wort.

Sounds like your bag was too small. A proper size bag should be just large enough in diameter to put the kettle inside the bag and a little taller than the kettle. That way you are not bunching the grain up in the bag during the mash. @wilserbrewer (HBT member and sponsor) makes quality, reasonably priced, custom fit BIAB bags (http://biabbags.webs.com/.)

Is it silicone? I've never seen silicone hose that big at hd.

I'm not sure the pvc hos sold at big box stores will work. Would probably collapse under the heat, causing wort to go everywhere

I tested it out with a few gallons of boiled water and it was fine, but I'll keep my eyes peeled for any signs of failure. Also, gonna try that silicon sealant for my sunday brewday.

I should have specified, BIAB in a rectangular cooler. It just wasn't as efficient as I was hoping for, so this braided piece should allow me a more even layer (and proper submerging).
