Has anyone used pex tubing for a manifold. Its rated for 180 degree h2o. I wasn't sure about off flavors

That's a pretty rudimentary way, but effective I guess.

Per wikipedia:

PEX- or XLPE-insulated cables have a rated maximum conductor temperature of 90 °C and an emergency rating up to 140 °C, depending on the standard used. They have a conductor short-circuit rating of 250 °C

That flex tube, not wire casing....;)

What is the tube inside the braided fixture supply lines made out of? (PEX?)

They use it for potable water.

I use the braided tube for my mash tun with the plastic tube left inside for loft.
