Got my grubby hands on some Mandarina Bavaria hops and thought this might be a good brew to showcase. Going for something like Lagunitas Little Sumpin' but a little less aggressive on the hopping. Let me know what you think!

I think this is good. My one suggestion: I don't think you need such a complex hops schedule. There's little difference between a 20 and a 15 minute addition, or a 10 and a 15--you get the idea. I'd probably do 60 minutes, 15 minutes, and flameout or whirlpool (and dry hop if you want, after taking a gravity sample). (Of course, doing it the way you've written won't be a problem; it's just a bit of a headache to measure and time all of those additions.)

You might consider a quick protein rest if clarity is a goal. Malted wheat shouldn't be too hazy, though.

Thanks for the input. I don't mind a little haze since it is a wheat. I am just hoping to really showcase the Mandarina Bavaria hops to see what they are all about. I'll still have 5oz to use after this recipe.

I'd second the simplification of the hop schedule. Looks like this should carry through the Mandarina Bavaria quite strongly. I'll be looking forward to hearing your tasting notes!

Beer turned out great. Decided to go with Wyeast 1098 British ale instead of the 1010 American Wheat since I found out that's what Lagunitas uses in Little Sumpin' and I really didn't want the yeast to overshadow the hops. It was spot on for a less aggressive version of that beer.

OG ended up 1.054 and FG was 1.004! Hops are very citrus leaning towards orange/tangerine but not quite as much as I expected. Just a little bit more rounded and sweet citrus than a cascade. Works really well since the beer has a nice dry finish.

Totally worth it for a little extra cost to try something new and have a great super drinkable beer. I think with the rest of my stash I might use them in an ipa or make another version of this beer with a blend of hops (citra, Amarillo, cascade perhaps).

I also put a few in a local comp to see how they do.
