I have been using Mandarina Bavaria and it does have some citrus qualities, albeit subtle at times, but very enjoyable.

I'm currently enjoying a Kolsch type beer ( Vienna malt used as base malt ) with Mandarina Bavaria + Hallertau Mittelfruh and Kolsch yeast. I did not dry hop, but used around 5 oz hops in the whirlpool ( 158F ) and I can definitely taste the Mandarina Bavaria and the spicy/earthy/slight floral notes from Mittelfruh. They actually work quite nicely together.

I often need to use a lot of it to get much out of it. Normally I've used it with Azacca and enjoyed it. It is a nice hop but I wish I didn't need so much of it. Not really a complaint, just my 2 cents.

Where I live, I can get Mandarina Bavaria crop 2017 very cheap, so I usually use quite a bit, but I guess I should use more. I pay something like 2.75 US dollars for 100 gr ( 3.6 oz ), which is very cheap and it can easily be used for belgian style beers, hefes, red ales, brown, etc.

I do a single hop low oxygen pils with it. Pretty good i'd say. I don't get citrus from it though.
