Hey everyone,

I am still kind of new to the homebrew world but I am learning quickly. I have been brewing extracts for the last couple months and have come up with three pretty good brews. I want to start experimenting with creating my own recipe but don't know where to start. I have the Joy of Homebrewing and I am currently reading it. I was wondering if anyone had any resources I could look at or advice they could give me in regards to crafting my first recipe. I have searched the forum database and haven't found much that have helped me, any advice would be great.

Thanks,

N

Sorry to necro this thread, but is this still the best go to guide for learning how to create your own recipes?

I'm in a similar situation the OP was in. Made a few extract kits and clone recipes. Looking to broaden my understanding of what ingredients impart what flavors and so forth and wanna make my own recipe.

DGB is a great book. I would get BLAM(brew like a monk) if you like Belgians or want to get into them. Clone Bews is great as well for various recipe ideas.
