Thinking of making a 3 berry IPA. Was going to use an IPA kit as the base. Then thinking of putting a combination of 3 of the following: strawberry, blackberry, blue berry, cherry, raspberry. Putting one at the end of the boil, adding on in fermentation and adding one in secondary.

Has anyone tried something like this before?

Any recommendation on which fruits to use and also which order to put them in?

Or is this just a horrible idea?

Thanks

Horrible idea Mr. first poster. Use an American 2-row base with some Crystal 40, wheat, and honey. Conan yeast (Heady Topper), or Wyeast 1968 if you can't harvest it. A lot of late additions of Mosaic, Citra, Amarillo, and Belma hops. That should get you in the berry/fruity realm without the need for actual fruit. If you must add something, add pure concentrated berry juice or prickly pear cactus juice to secondary.
