I recently purchased two 23L/6gal carboys from Amazon.com for $60. They are from Paklab but made in Italy. The price included S/H. They arrived unscathed. They also sell wine kits. I haven't tried them but I'm sure an experienced wine maker can tweak them to make a decent table wine.

I've bought several wine kits from Amazon with no complaints. First one I followed directions with the exception of allowing more time between steps (3 weeks in secondary then age 5-6 weeks before bottling) and let bottle age a couple of months before drinking. Fine $1.65 bottle of wine.
Later kits I added several handfuls of raisins to the primary and occasionally some oak.

No complaints.

Costco in Canada has wine kit deals.
A place called grapestompers usually has a monthly special.
