I'm in the market for a March pump for my new brew rig and I just noticed the pumps at mcmaster-carr (4161K11). Anyone have experience with these or see any reason not to use it? It looks pretty comparable to the march pump.

Costs a couple bucks more than the March 809 at Northern Brewer, but it may be worth it not to have to buy all my stuff from several places.

Thanks
Chris

I wouldn't think any more so than with the march pumps.

The style of pump is identical, a magnetically coupled centrifugal pump. You can't run the march pumps dry either. I don't see small particles of grain being a big issue for the impeller.

I looked at that one also. It is slower, looks like about 3 gpm and only 1/100 hp. No mounting base or plug. I havent pulled the trigger until i sell some stuff but based on the things i read in the official march pump forum Im going to go for the 815 model
