just curious about kegging and I was wondering how long the beer will stay good compared to a bottle.

Thanks

Think of the keg as just a big bottle, that's all it is. Of course different beers last longer than others regardless if they are bottled or kegged.

plus you have co2 in the headspace of a keg, so IMHO, it lasts longer and is not really at any risk of further oxidation (i can't speak for your transferring process). i've gotten 6-8 months no problem. and they probably would have lasted another year if they hadn't been finished.

I still have a keg of Belgian Dark strong that tastes great and better then it did 3 months ago. I finished a pumpkin ale a few weeks ago......from last year. Both tasted great with no flavor change that I could detect.
