It kinds of sounds like a crappier version of an autosiphon...might be great for non-brewing purposes, but if you're brewing, I'd just use an autosiphon.

Why try to reinvent the wheel when there's already an affordable and useful version of the wheel?

It would appear to be less to sanitize. The autosiphon does seem a bit awkward to sanitize all the nooks and crannies.
