I've gotten a request to try to make a lavender beer. Most of the suggestions I've seen on here and other websites suggest wit beer, but I don't really like wit beers very much. I'm planning on trying it with an APA. My goal is to obviously make the lavender the focus tastewise/aromawise, But I want some sweetness and some ABV kick that will keep me from giving the entire batch away. Thoughts?

I think the challenge of using an APA for this beer is that the lavender aroma will get hidden behind the hop aroma. Backing off the hops and using somewhat neutral hops might help.

Hey there ive been doing lots of herb additions with my beers lately. most recent a traditional rootbeer ale. Turned out amazing its a health elixir but beer! The thing with herbs n spice are they are gentle, so do pitch it towards your flame out and by adding ur herbs as a dry hop really brings out some rocking aroma. I tend to lighten up my additions during the boil and step them up lots after ferment, as well as making a stiff decotion right before bottling. Works great best a luck!
