Late additions to keg

Has anyone tried to add steeped coffee to a porter that will go into a whiskey barrel? Any thoughts or suggestions. Assuming that the coffee was brewed and added under sanitized conditions.

I've done it a few times, I cold brew my coffee for a few days then add it to the keg.

I think Cold Brewed Coffee is the standard method of adding coffee to a beer.
