Lager question

So my mother in law has found a Turkish restaurant at which she eats at least twice a week. She stated she had found the holy grail of beers (mind you she doesn't drink beer) and demanded that I try it. The beer was Efes Dark. It sucked...... To me it was like drinking a bud light that someone had slipped food coloring in to. My mother In law then asked if I could brew it.... Given that I love her daughter and therefor want to keep her mom happy I said I probably could. Problem is I have no idea where to start. I know it's a lager..... But given i know nothing about lagers sans they are fermented at a lower temp, I don't feel comfortable tackling this on my own. Has anyone out there has this beer, can someone narrow of down for me? Is it. Pilsner? What is it?
