Now that my third hand-me-down fridge died on me (all freezer on top, fridge on bottom), I'm debating what I'm going to do now. Thinking of buying a new chest freezer for a keezer, and second for the family freezer. I always just used the fridge portion for beer (5 kegs serving, w/ 1 on stand-by) and the top as the family freezer. Never bothered w/ a temp controller, but I have an old Ranco that should still work.
I keep the beer fridge on one side of the wall in my work-shop and have 5 taps coming through the wall, so I'll have a collar on the keezer to route cold air over the lines, but no taps on the collar.
What size/model chest freezer to fit at least 5 kegs, preferably 6? I'll keep the gas on the outside.
