My new faucets came with a connection that would go to a normal keg fitting, by screwing on. However, I have ball lock corney kegs instead. Does a quick connect device exist that converts the commercial keg connection to a ball lock?

Or do I really have to just cut off and put on the ball lock in its place?

Yes you need a ball lock quick disconnect. About 5 bucks for liquid and gas. I'd try to send back the sanke part.....or get a trade out. Shouldn't be a problem. Where did you get it?

I think it comes default with perlick faucets. I will cut them off if that's tr only way. I was hoping there may be some sort of connection that could connect into this commercial fitting and then connect to ball lock. So if you ever did get a full keg, you could quickly disconnect

There's an adapter most keg supply & mail order hombrew shops have that lets you modify the sanke tap to be MFL disconnects. This way you can switch back and forth between Ball Lock QD and the Sanke tap. This is the way I set up my kegerator, but I've yet to put a commercial keg in it. :)

Here's the part at Midwest: http://www.midwestsupplies.com/1-4-stainless-mfl-tail-piece.html

As I was searching for a photo (my Sanke tap is packed away), I found this:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C30F75I/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Not quite what I was describing, but the concept translates. Instead of the ball lock connector adapters on the gas in and beer out lines shown in the Amazon pic, use the MFL disconnects from the Midwest Supplies link in the post above.

My kegerator has barbed swivel nuts (http://www.midwestsupplies.com/barbed-swivel-nut.html) on the end of the gas and beer lines. Then I connect ball lock quick disconnects (http://www.midwestsupplies.com/ball-lock-liquid-fitting-threaded.html, http://www.midwestsupplies.com/ball-lock-gas-fitting-threaded.html) with MFL to these barbed swivel nuts. This allows me to switch out the ball lock connectors for the sanke tap with the mfl adapters (http://www.midwestsupplies.com/1-4-stainless-mfl-tail-piece.html).

Just found another thread on hbt that has a great example: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/ne...omebrew-keg-compatibility-104107/#post1141378

Does that make more sense?

Ok the issue is that the sankey screw on connection is directly on the beer line, which will have to be removed. A quick connect option exists from the barbed swivel nut on the beer line to the sankey connection but not the other way around.

There should be fittings around those connections that you can remove and then insert the MFL adapters for both the beer and gas lines. Or am I missing something? Is your sanke tap like the one in the pic below?

Right. So, you need to cut off the fittings for the sanke tap and install the barbed swivel nuts. Then put the adapters with the MFL in the tap. Screw the swivel nuts on to the MFL adapters and you're set. Then if you want to put corney kegs on, all you have to do is unscrew the swivel nuts and screw on ball lock (or pin lock, if that's what you're using) quick disconnects.

Ugh. Not a fan of crimped barbs.

I could have sworn someone had the "reverse function" of this, but damned if I can find it anywhere. So the way I'd likely go is to cut those swivels off, install 1/4" FFLs to connect directly to MFL'd corney QDs, and buy a couple of those adapters to get back to the Sanke connections...

Cheers!
