So I just picked up an old whirlpool chest freezer to build a keezer. It needs alot of work, pretty crusty. However, when picking it up I failed to look at the hinges and now that I have it home and unloaded I think it won't work. Are these part of the cooling coils or could I cut them and add my own hinges?

Well never mind to anyone who might come across this, after 24 hours of being plugged in the freezer went up to 15*f above ambient so I'd say it isn't going to work as a keezer anyways. But to anyone else that may have an old whirlpool of the same style, pull the two bolts on the body to release the hinges then use a die grinder to cut them off the lid and it works great
