Hi Chaps,

I hope you are doing fine.

I'm making wine for the first time. and as part of the process I added crushed campden tablets to the finest I could and added them to the wort/must. It is been 2 weeks now and the powder still floating in the wine!!!!!!!

So my question is, is it safe to drink the wine now????

Please help

Rack from under the flotsam and you should be fine, just don't try to salvage the last bit and undo the effort.
Next time dissolve the crushed tablets in a little wine or water prior to pouring the solution in the fermentor...

Cheers!

I can't imagine that it is undissolved Campden tablets on the surface. They would soak up the must and dissolve all on their own.

But on the slim chance that is what happened follow day trippr's advice and it will be OK.
