Please pardon, but can spraying a surface with star san solution help prevent mold growth?

Yeah, it's a wet contact sanitizer... It may kill existing mold spores but won't do anything to prevent new ones from taking hold after it dries.

To the op, I figure you must've seen a post where I talked about doing just that with my Maori IPA. I scooped out the dry hop sacks & scooped the lacto crud off the surface. The sprayed the surface with Starsan again before racking to the bottling bucket. The beer turned out pretty good, but the very slight sour funk mixed with the tropical fruit flavors of the NZ hops pretty well. So all in all, I think it slowed it down temporarily, but didn't stop it. So I think it didn't get the ones below the surface of the beer.
