Is my starter ruined

I've been growing a yeast starter from a washed yeast sample for a couple days. Today's just noticed an eyelash or some kind of short hair(no not curly) floating in the foam. I'm scared I've ruined my work or will it have more flavor haha. What's the best way to tell if it's contaminated before I use it in a batch of brew...I'd much rather throw out 750mL of starter than 5 gal of homebrew.

More than sure its fine. Happened to me a few times. Try and leave it out when pitching
