I would say i enjoy IPAs. They are not my drink of choice, and too much bitterness is ****, but they have a pleasant taste. The thing about IPAs is they make me drink slower. I like the taste, but the bitterness keeps me from drinking a lot or emptying my glass too fast. I can't really control myself that way with other beers.

Rookie mistake, always aim for the sink. I can imagine you may have the sink and your mouth confused, since you weren't able to readily identify the taste as disgusting, but there is always, ALWAYS room for learning.
